Ningbo City is located in Zhejiang province, a beautiful coastal city with natural sceneries and a tremendously rich cultural heritage. Ningbo’s local GDP per capita is about three times the national average, and the city has been listed among the ten happiest Chinese cities to live in 2021. The port in Ningbo is the busiest in the world regarding cargo tonnage. It handles over eight hundred million tons of cargo per year.

We were approached by the Hangzhou-based team Foundyá to create a custom-illustrated map for the city of Ningbo. The map is the latest part of a global campaign (#gotoningbo) launched by the Ningbo Tourism Bureau. Ningbo’s tourist industry includes a sparkling city atmosphere, museums, historic sites, several beautiful temples, nature reserves, and preserved ancient towns.
